The first UV LED applications are already firmly established on the market. This involves the digital printing sector in particular, as well as various adhesion or sealing techniques.

Plenty of time has been dedicated to the development of UV LEDs across the board. The apparent trend is for greater UV performance, especially with air-cooled systems. A decline in prices can also be expected if chip prices fall as a result of greater quantities required. Applications that are not commercially interesting today will thus catch the eye of developers in the future.

It is expected that further UV LED applications will follow in sectors where their specific advantages can be fully utilised (cold, clocking, almost monochromatic).
